About the event
Course Description
Sibling sexual abuse can create deep ruptures in family relationships, leaving lasting impacts on trust, safety, and connection. Effective treatment requires a coordinated, team-based approach that supports both the child who was harmed and the child who caused the harm. Central to this process is reunification—not simply about living arrangements, but about repairing fractured relationships through accountability, safety, and healing. This training explores reunification as a therapeutic process, with a special focus on the use of letter writing as a powerful intervention. Participants will learn how apology and clarification letters can facilitate accountability, foster empathy, and create opportunities for meaningful repair within families navigating the aftermath of sibling sexual abuse.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
· Define the reunification process in the context of sibling sexual abuse, including its goals of relationship repair,
