About the event

Course Description

Children under 12 who display concerning or problematic sexual behaviours are not a single, uniform group—they are diverse, complex, and often misunderstood. This training offers a developmentally informed lens to better understand why these behaviours may emerge before puberty, how they differ from normative sexual exploration, and what this means for intervention. Participants will learn to distinguish healthy sexual play from behaviours that signal concern, and will gain practical tools for supporting children, families, and service providers with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

·       Understand the characteristics and underlying motivations of children under 12 who engage in concerning sexual

behaviours.
